Why Support The Fearless Foreigner?
The life of a travel blogger looks glamorous and it is incredibly fun, but it is also very expensive and time consuming. Unlike many content creators I do very few brand partnerships. That means what I recommend and write on my site are my true feelings. I don’t need to worry about pleasing a hotel marketing department or not hurting a restaurant owner’s feelings. I mean I never want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I do give my honest thoughts.
There is also a trend, sadly, of bloggers cranking out posts. Instead of working on quality, they are all about quantity. Often they don’t even visit the places they write about, but just write about popular destinations that many readers are searching for.
These mega sites which I will not name, but you can often find on the first page of google, have a lot of traffic, but unfortunately not a lot of quality information.
On the other hand I have personally visited almost every place mentioned unless otherwise noted. My personal travels are planned based on future blog posts. Hours go into researching, traveling, taking notes, writing, and all the other blog tasks I will leave out to not bore you! That also means that I am paying for almost all of my travel and time spent working out of pocket.
Whether it is finding a bathroom on a hike, saving money with a credit card, knowing how to use public transportation, or discovering a new place to visit, I hope my blog posts have helped you plan your own travels. If they have, I would be extremely grateful for your support!
