From Lanzarote to Moscow – 2/25/18

Back in Moscow….sigh. Always so hard to come home after a vacation, especially when you leave the cold for a nice, sunny and warm location. On the plane ride back the pilot announced as we were about to land that it was snowing. I just shook my head and thought “of course it is”. It was about a 50 degree temperature difference!

My flights with Iberia went very smoothly. Well other than the mad rush in the airport between my flights. I only had an hour layover in Madrid. With needing to take a shuttle to a different terminal and waiting in line for passport control I had to run to my gate. I arrived about 25 minutes after boarding started and 5 minutes before they closed the door. They were announcing last call as I rounded the corner! It’s really a wonder that I make my flights! 

I felt a tad smug on the plane when I could communicate with the flight attendants in Spanish or English and the Russians couldn’t communicate with them at all. Soon enough I will be flying with another Russian airline I am sure and the tables will be turned once again.

……….Actually here I am back in Russia and I can’t communicate with anyone already! Ah so much for the joy of being understood.

Time to go back to work and start thinking about my next travels!
