The Measure of Success – Moscow Expat Life Update #1

In my first few days in Moscow I have been struggling with all sorts of routines that most people don’t give a second thought to.

Just as routines are a whole different ballgame abroad, so is the measure of success. Success is finding where I live, being able to open my apartment door and buying groceries. My teacher’s assistant once again came to my rescue and explained the fruit buying situation. You simply need to weigh your produce by yourself and then print out a label. The only tricky part is knowing the number to type in when I can’t read the names of the produce. Luckily the names are next to the particular fruit or vegetables so as long as the signs match up I should be good.

To end the night I got my doors open independently and quickly, what a relief!
