Costa Teguise is a seaside resort town in Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Due to its sandy beaches and lively marina with shops and restaurants it is a popular choice when deciding where to stay in Lanzarote. There are a lot of things to do in Costa Teguise, but all of the Lanzarote day tours also have pick-ups in town if you want to explore more of the island.
If you are looking for hotels in Costa Teguise you need to check out the Vitalclass Lanzarote Resort. It’s the perfect place to stay in Costa Teguise if you are looking for an all-inclusive resort with a lot of amenities. The resort has a very tropical feel like many of the resorts on the island. What sets it apart is its focus on fitness! Continue reading to find out everything you need to know about the resort.
Vitalclass Lanzarote Resort
Location
The Vitalclass Lanzarote Resort is located about 20 – 30 minutes walk to the beaches and main part of Costa Teguise. There are a few restaurants located closer to the hotel, but for the majority of them you will need to walk at least 20 minutes to reach. The Playa Roca bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away from the resort.
Costa Teguise Waterfront
There is a nice path to and along the coastline. I found it to be significantly less busy than the path along the water in Playa Blanca, another popular resort town on the island.
Costa Teguise Restaurants
The majority of the stores and restaurants were not right on the water. I had a delicious meal at Doña Lola while enjoying views of the sun setting over the sea.
Rooms
When I stayed at the hotel the rooms had a homier, country feel to them. They have since been remodeled and now have a modern, seaside look. I was shocked with the size of my room. Apartment, is a better word to describe my accommodation. I had a living room, huge balcony (forgot to take a picture), kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The large rooms make the resort great for extended stays.
The rooms are cleaned everyday, but the towels are only changed three times a week.
Dining
There are several different dining options. You can choose anything from no meals included to all meals included. If you decide not to buy meals beforehand you can pay for meals before dining. You will get a better price if you have meals included ahead of time. As I said in the location section above there are not a lot of restaurants in the immediate area. I recommend getting breakfast included at least, if not half-board (breakfast & dinner). If you are exploring or taking day trips in the day you may not make use of the lunch.
Considering that my last resort in Playa Blanca was adults only, Vitalclass didn’t seem as upscale to me. It is much more family friendly which makes it more casual. In some ways this is nice for the restaurant. At my Playa Blanca resort I felt way underdressed and here I fit in a little better. On the other hand if you are looking to dress up a bit for dinner you may prefer a more upscale or adults only resort.
Gym & Spa
While staying at the resort you have access to the Vitalclass Lanzarote Spa & Gym. The spa and gym are included, but not the indoor swimming pool. There is a small extra charge for that and you need a swim cap. The spa’s jacuzzi was perfect after a day of hiking volcanoes. I don’t know if you will always be this lucky, but the best part for me was that I was the only one using it!
The hotel has a sports focus in general, even outside of the large gym. There is even an outdoor fitness area. There was definitely a fitness atmosphere as I saw a lot of bikers during my stay.
Outdoor Pools
There are three different outdoor pools. Unfortunately they are not heated, so if you are visiting during the winter they might be a little chilly on colder days. If the sun is out you will love the pool that has loungers right in it!
The hotel is very family-friendly. In addition to the three main pools, there is even a nice kiddie pool and playground. The area is more secluded than the main pools and doesn’t have as much foot traffic.
