The Hotel

I couldn’t believe my luck when I arrived at Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites. With the low nightly rate for a 4 star all-inclusive I wasn’t expecting this Lanzarote hotel to be so new and modern. Although I should have known I would be staying in a suite because all the rooms at the hotel come with suites, I was still impressed with my huge room. Not only do the rooms have a lot of space, but they are also very clean. Shiny, is the best word to describe the rooms.

The two pools are beautiful and ideal for a daytime swim. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was that it was adults only. That means there were no children splashing around in the water and I could easily relax poolside on a sun lounger.

The buffet food was both lovely in presentation and delicious in taste. You can book your room as an all-inclusive with three meals a day, half-board with breakfast and dinner, or breakfast only. The half-board option worked really well for me because I was doing tours each day and away from the resort at lunchtime.

When deciding where to stay in Lanzarote I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at an H10 resort. There are several other H10 hotels around Lanzarote. H10 Lanzarote Princess is another 4 star hotel located in Playa Blanca. It has a beachfront location and a few more amenities. H10 Rubicón Palace is H10’s 5 star Playa Blanca resort with several pools and restaurants.

The Area

The hotel is located in the resort town of Playa Blanca. It can be difficult getting around Lanzarote without a car, but it can be done if you plan ahead with bus times. The Playa Honda bus stop is across the street (line 30). Other than relaxing at the hotel, the main thing to do in Playa Blanca is to visit the beach and promenade. The walk to the beach is only about 5 minutes. Most of the restaurants along the beach are about 10 – 15 minutes walk away. Playa Blanca is a good base to take day tours to explore the rest of the island.

THB Tropical Islands Hotel

Lanzarote Hotel: THB Tropical Islands Hotel

By Bhavik and Namita from Binge TravellingPinterest

The Hotel

The THB Tropical Islands Hotel, Playa Blanca has a number of accommodation options – full board, half board, breakfast only, or self-catered. We decided to go for the self-catered option. The apartments have everything you need including a microwave, cooker, oven, and kettle. They were clean but minimal. Within our family was a set of grandparents, a couple, and a young family with one child. We were fortunate to have our own apartments next to each other.  The small neighborhood feel was quite nice.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. If you are looking for the best place to stay in Lanzarote with your family THB Tropical Islands is a good choice. Given the number of pools, 16, as well as playground areas for children, the hotel caters to families.  The hotel also has a bar and a pool table. We found the supermarket on site useful.

The nightly price ranges from about $70 – 110 per self-catered apartment. We felt safe while we were there and with the friendly staff and great amenities we enjoyed our stay.

The Area

Playa Blanca, like the rest of Lanzarote is a relatively quiet seaside town. We spent a lot of our time at Playa Dorada Beach. It is a gorgeous beach. The beach is bordered by some nice restaurants which aren’t too expensive. We had some fantastic Gelato ice creams there as well which is worth a try for sure. There are some beautiful marinas in the surrounding areas which are great for a nice restaurant or a few cocktails if you’re looking for a night out.

A big selling point for us was the hotel shuttle bus going to the beach. The shuttle traveled every 30 minutes.  It’s about a 15 minute walk from the apartments to the beach, if you don’t mind the walk.

Transportation options are limited with regards to local buses. Taxis are readily available and cost around $5 a trip.

Where to Stay in Lanzarote: Costa Teguise

The Hotel

Vitalclass Lanzarote Resort is a 4 star resort and one of the best Lanzarote hotels. It provides all the amenities you need for a wonderful stay at a reasonable cost. There are three pools, not including the children’s water play area. The resort has a health focus so in addition to the pools, there is an outdoor fitness park and indoor gym with a 25 meter pool. My favorite part was the spa. I’m not usually much of a spa goer and didn’t make use of all the steam and sauna rooms, but I did love soaking in the jacuzzi after a day of hiking.

Like many of the hotels in Lanzarote, Vitalclass offers rooms with breakfast included, half-board, or all-inclusive meals. There are double rooms and suite rooms. I booked a suite room because it was cheaper than a double room (one of the benefits of always booking through booking.com) When I stayed the rooms had a homier, country feel to them. They have since been remodeled and now have a modern, tropical theme.

Due to all the health amenities and children’s amenities, it is one of the best places to stay in Lanzarote whether you are traveling on your own or with your family.

The Area

The resort is located in Costa Teguise, one of the best areas to stay in Lanzarote. As we have already mentioned, public transportation in Lanzarote can be difficult. The Playa Roca bus stop is only 5 minutes away from the hotel though. The beach and the central part of Costa Teguise is about a 15 –  30 minute walk away. Costa Teguise is a good central base to explore the rest of Lanzarote on day tours.

Where to Stay in Lanzarote: Arrecife

Hotel Miramar

Read more about Hotal Miramar

The Hotel

Hotel Miramar is a centrally located hotel in Arrecife. It doesn’t have a pool, an all-inclusive food option, or any of the other amenities that come with most hotels in Lanzarote. It’s still a great option for where to stay in Lanzarote due to its central location across the street from the ocean, a delicious morning breakfast, and clean rooms at a lower cost. You can sit outside during breakfast or any other time of day and take in the view of the sparkly blue water.

The Area

Arrecife, the capital city of Lanzarote, is where you will most likely arrive into Lanzarote. Hotal Miramar is only a 10 minute drive away from the airport. It takes about 45 – 60 minutes by bus. Bus #21 stops at the Parque Viejo stop near the hotel entrance. When looking for places to stay in Lanzarote, Arrecife is an especially good choice if you are traveling without a car and/or arriving late in the evening. You can easily visit all parts of the island when based in Arrecife.

The hotel is in the ideal location to get beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean. Across the street from the hotel is the castle, Castillo del San Gabriel with the museum, Museo del Historia inside. One of my favorite things to do in Arrecife was to walk along the waterfront all the way to Parque Temático. Another beautiful body of water, Charco San Giles, is also walking distance from the hotel. With stores, castles, museums, and more Arrecife has the most things to do within a Lanzarote town or city.

Where to Stay in Lanzarote: Puerto del Carmen

Hotel Los Fariones

Lanzarote Hotels

By Alina from World of Lina Instagram

The Hotel

The Hotel Los Fariones in Puerto del Carmen is located directly at the water and has its own private beach. A big terrace with enough sunbeds overlooking the sea invites you to relax. A big pool gives you the perfect opportunity to take a refreshing swim if you’re not a fan of the ocean. Thanks to its convenient location close to the promenade of Puerto del Carmen and the harbor, the 5-star hotel is perfect for couples who want to have a relaxing holiday. I wouldn’t recommend it for families as it doesn’t really offer amenities for younger ones. The prices were completely acceptable for a 5-star hotel like this but definitely in the higher price range.

What I liked the most about the hotel was the rich breakfast buffet! It offers everything one desires and is the perfect start to your day. It was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Overall, the location was simply perfect and the staff was outstandingly friendly.

The Area

If you are wondering where to stay in Lanzarote you may want to consider Puerto del Carmen. It is one of the most popular tourist cities on the island. It is no wonder because the beaches there are truly beautiful! Also the amount of activities offered there is incredible and that’s why I chose Puerto del Carmen. You can find everything from jet skis, banana boats, a dive school, tons of good restaurants, bars, and really cool clubs in the city. Just walk along the promenade and you’ll have a super tough decision on where to eat! After dinner I recommend that you visit some of the bars. Spanish people never get tired of dancing and their cocktails contain ample alcohol!

From Puerto del Carmen you can easily go anywhere on the island and you can book great tours at the tourist information or at the reception of your hotel. So if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with some fun activities to do then Puerto del Carmen is definitely your place to be!

Where to Stay in Lanzarote: Arrieta

Finca de Arrieta

Finca de Arrieta, Lazarote Retreats

By Jenny from Travelynn Family — Instagram

The Resort

Family-run Finca de Arrieta is an enclave of yurts, just outside the sleepy village of Arrieta, in the North of Lanzarote. This is a far cry from the package holiday scenes typically associated with the island. Finca de Arrieta is leading the way in eco-tourism for the Canaries, and has been built using locally sourced materials, and is entirely off-grid.

There are a range of self-catering yurts on offer to suit all budgets and group sizes, as well as a couple of quirky lodges like the Eco Surf Shack and Eco Cabin. Each accommodation is unique and private from its neighbor, yet a sense of belonging radiates through this eco-conscious community, firmly established with Monday’s Paella Night.

In the resort there is a huge playground for kids, a small heated swimming pool, and lots of farm animals (donkeys, rabbits and chickens). It’s a fantastic place for young kids especially.

The Area

When looking for a place to stay in Lanzarote you’ll want to consider the region around Arrieta if you want to experience a quieter part of Lanzarote. This region offers the most panoramic views and unspoiled towns of the island, as well as some beautiful secluded beaches. This really is the place to get off the beaten track in Lanzarote. You will need a car to get around. Some of the yurts at Finca de Arrieta even come with a hybrid car!

The beach is just a two minute walk from the resort. This is very low key with just a couple of restaurants, surf school, and a playground. Walk into the town for a small supermarket and a more restaurant choices.

Wow! Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites looks really like a wonderful place. Happy to know that you had a wonderful stay. It is a must for me that the place is clean and spacious.

Though it may not be good news for families to have the pool exclusive to adults only, I think it’s something nice and appealing for those who want to relax and have a little quiet time while enjoying a good view.

Thank you for sharing these hotel recommendations.

Haven’t been to the moon recently…sorry Lanzarote. 😀 Great list of hotels and resorts here however I have stayed at the Vitalclass Lanzarote Resort, and totally recommend it for the food and quality customer service here. Really did enjoy my stay here.

I have only been to Tenerife once. I know that these canaries islands have about seven islands next to each other. I have never been to other islands. I didn’t know that Lanzarote is a tiny island with a lot of things to do. Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites look lovely, and adult-only is an excellent option for the couple without kids. I guess it’s also nice to just chilling in the hotel all day, doing nothing but enjoying the weather and the hotel facilities.

I have not visited Lanzorete till date unfortunately even though being in England at it being one of the most popular destinations to get some sun. I am looking to visit it next year with the kids so great timing of this post. I do really like the look of H10 White Suites it won’t help as its Adults only. Hotel Miramar too takes my fancy and looks great from a location point as well. There is so much on offer that this can’t be missed whether you have a family holiday or without kids. Thanks for sharing the best of Lanzorete with us.

Great post!! I really enjoyed reading it because during my visit to the UK I had to cancel my trip to Lanzarote which was an absolute misfortune as I wanted to visit it. You list indeed has some of the best accommodations you can find in Lanzarote and I hope I can try some of them the next time I visit the UK.

  • Amrita

I have never heard of Lanzarote before. After reading this post I checked your guide on Lanzarote. The place looks so beautiful. These hotels you mentioned here also look gorgeous. It was great that you got a good deal at H10 White Suites. A good deal at a good place always makes the stay awesome. You are also so right about booking.com. It also gives me some great deals at times.

Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites really looks worth staying in Playa Blanca Lanzarote as you said it is budget friendly and also with all modern plush amenities. It is good you specified it is adults only so it would be worth for honeymoon couples or romantic getaway types. I also loved The THB Tropical Islands Hotel in Playa Blanca as they offer different accommodation options – full board, half board, breakfast only or self-catered. It is great that you have listed city wise accommodations and that makes to plan my trip to Lanzarote more easier.

  • Arnav Mathur

I had my eyes on the Canary Islands for quite a while, which kinda got shot up on the bucket list, after visiting the Canary Island stalls at WTM last year. Loved this curated list of hotels and resorts, each unique in its own way, that you have listed out. This no doubt is a valuable resource for anyone planning a trip to the Canary Islands.
