Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, is a small island. Even though it only takes about an hour to drive the length of the island, there are a lot of great places to stay in Lanzarote. Playa Blanca is one of the most popular resort towns on the island. It is located on the southern tip of the island.

I stayed at Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites in Playa Blanca.  It was my first experience at an all-inclusive type of resort. In the past I have preferred taking fast paced city gateways….now I understand the hype around a tropical resort! If you want a relaxing vacation you can spend it right at the hotel. The beach and boardwalk are about a 10 – 15 minute walk from the hotel. Almost all the day tours to the rest of the island leave from Playa Blanca as well. The hotel is really convenient to the pick-up spot across the street.

Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites Review

The Property

Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites is designed in the typical style of most hotels on the Canary Islands. It is made up of several two story white buildings that form the perimeter of the property. There are gardens and paths connecting the buildings. Be aware that pathways at night are not lit up very well. There are no elevators going to the rooms on the 2nd stories.

The hotel is an adults only property. The majority of the guests appeared to be from an older generation. This didn’t bother me and I quite enjoyed the respite from children, but this might not be the ideal demographic for everyone.

There is a restaurant (described below), a beauty salon, a fitness center and……

Pools

In the center are two heated pools and one outdoor jacuzzi. Plenty of lounge chairs are available for anyone who wants to relax poolside.

Had the pool all to myself in the evening!

Dining

Hotel H10 offers breakfast, half-board or full board dining options. When reserving my stay in Playa Blanca on booking.com I decided to do half-board (breakfast and dinners included) for only 10 Euros more for all three nights here! I was so happy I made that decision ahead of time because buying dinner at the property would have cost 34 euros for EACH night.

I was hesitant about eating meals at the hotel restaurant because I typically look forward to eating out at local places. Again I was so happy I had dinners included, because I was still able to eat out for lunches. After a long day of day tours it was nice to not have to worry about walking down to the promenade to find a restaurant.

Most important to me was that I enjoyed the quantity and the quality of the food. There was a few mixed reviews online, but coming from the land of bland Russian food I thoroughly savored the food. One person said there was not a variety. They clearly have not been eating buckwheat and potatoes for months on end!

For both breakfast and dinner there is a large selection of options including a chef available to cook some hot food the way you like it, your meat cooked the right amount or an omelet with your chosen ingredients included. Other than water not being included with dinner, I was in my happy place of being surrounded by so much delicious food!

People tend to dress up a bit for dinner. I wasn’t planning on doing anything too fancy during my week in Lanzarote so I regretted not bringing a couple nicer outfits for dinner.

Suites

I usually don’t book a suite due to price, but every room at this hotel is a suite. When I walked into my very own suite with a balcony I was pleasantly surprised. The suite was much bigger than some of the apartments I have lived in! The rooms feel new and have a modern, trendy decor.

Upon entering the suite you walk directly into the bedroom. You are provided with a bathrobe, slippers, beach towel and a couple of sweets.

Then there is a short hallway with the bathroom along the side.

At the end of the suite is the living room with a couch, a couple of chairs, a desk, small kitchen area and closets. There was way more space than I needed, especially for one person. Overall I found the room to be a bit chilly, so bring something warm to wear inside your room and on your feet to avoid the ice cold tile floor or wear the slippers and robe they provide.

You don’t need to wonder where to stay in Playa Blanca any longer! Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites is the perfect place to stay in Playa Blanca whether you are looking for a luxurious, relaxing place to stay or somewhere with a convenient location to explore the rest of the resort town and the island. Hi,

Thank you for a great review of the H10 White Suites. Especially the tip about bringing something warm to wear!

We are thinking of visiting later this year and just wondered do you remember how deep the swimming pools are? I can swim but my Mum just likes to splash about and she is only 4ft 10 inches and doesn’t like to get into a pool if it is too deep.

    Many thanks,
    Kathryn

Hi Kathryn, H10 White Suites is a great hotel! One pool was closed when I visited so I can’t speak to that one. The other one I don’t remember exactly, but I want to say it was about 3 feet on one end and maybe got a foot or two deeper on the other end.
